September 18:  Every Group Is A Community
    Notes / Podcast / Video

Being a Christian is more than a Sunday thing…because we are family. In order to grow as a family we need to grow in our faith and do life together. At St. Peter & The CORE this happens when we participate in Group Bible study and Life Groups. As a part of these groups members love one another, confess to one another, forgive one another, pray for one another, bear one another’s burdens, etc. Why? Because no one can be the kind of Christian God wants them to be by themselves. We need others to grow as God calls us to grow…and they need us too.

LENT 2016: Famous Last Words (Week 3)

February 24:  Here Is Your Son. Here Is Your Mother.  Podcast

Even on the cross, Jesus cared about community. He didn't want his followers or his family to be alone, but to care for one another. In the same way, we need the church. We need one another. We need to do life together. Thankfully, God has surrounded us with the very thing we need.

October 4:  Us vs. Them  Notes / Podcast

We tend to focus on our church, our ministry, our budget, and sadly ignore the greater body of Christ.  But “Truth In Love Ministry” isn’t doing that and, in supporting "Truth in Love Ministry", we are trying to avoid that selfish tug, too.  We need to remember that God longs for us to be a blessing beyond our church walls both in our community and beyond Appleton with our time, prayers, and offerings.

April 26:  Confess Your Sins To One Another  Notes / Podcast

Nothing brings people together like transparency. James tells us to confess to one another, to pray for one another so that we may be healed. Our church strives to be “real”, so let’s be just that. Be real about your sin, and then remember to forgive one another in Jesus’ name.

April 19:  Strengthen One Another  Notes / Podcast

The New Testament is filled with “one another” commands. The sign of true community is when we gather with one another, encourage one another, spur one another on towards love and good deeds, etc. Most important, we point one another towards the supremacy of Christ so we don’t drift away as the Christians in the book of Hebrews were being tempted to do.

April 12:  Teach One Another  Notes / Podcast

Exodus 17-18 shows us how even Moses, that great leader of the Old Testament, needed help to win the victory and be the best leader in Israel. Likewise, God intended us to “do life together” and support each other as we make our way from the slavery of sin to the “Promised Land”.

    One Another (Series Summary)

    • April 12:  Teach One Another
    • April 19:  Strengthen One Another
    • April 26:  Confess Your Sins To One Another

God created us to do life together, to “one another” one another...both for our soul’s sake and for the sake of other Christians. God has told us dozens of times in the New Testament to love/pray for/confess to/bear the burdens of/be kind to/forgive/teach/etc “one another”. The goal of this series is to help us understand the blessings of Christian community and to get connected to other at our church.
