Darboy Lesson1 Page5

Q: Since the problems in my life and in the world are spiritual in nature, what is the solution?

Romans 5:8, 15 - God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us...For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
2 Corinthians 5:21 - God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Ephesians 2:8 - It is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.

A: Our sins separate us from God because our righteous God says sin must be punished. Jesus restored our broken relationship by obeying God’s law perfectly. Jesus willingly accepted the assignment to suffer hell in our place. Because God punished Jesus for our sins, he will not punish us.

Forgiveness of sins such as addictions, immoral behavior, abuse, etc, are free gifts from God.

Salvation is God’s gift to us and becomes ours through faith in Jesus.

Jesus is God’s solution to the problem of sin in our lives.
